Technical Building Engineer – South

Job Objectives:

  1. Undertake the maintenance and repair of the HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical services, including fabric tasks of buildings as required under contract.
  2. Assist the Technical Services/Asset Manager with the day-to-day running of the contracts technical services specification.
  3. Ensure that all buildings meet the required level of competency and certification.

Main Duties:

  1. Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork.
  2. Carry out Reactive and Emergency tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
  3. Ensure all statutory certification is in place – received, checked and logged within the required timescales.
  4. Ensure correct asset capture and frequencies in line with the contract and legislation.
  5. Assist other team members when required or as directed by the Technical Services/Asset Manager.
  6. Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales – be knowledgeable of contract priorities and KSLs.
  7. Ensure we are working to the Management of Sub Contractor processes for all sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety, issue of appropriate Permits, controlling small works.
  8. Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
  9. All duties carried out in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
  10. Understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
  11. Ensure all works are carried out in a safe and diligent manner.
  12. Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  13. Take part in an Engineering Call Out Rota as/if required.

Essential Requirements

  1. Qualified to City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in relevant Building Services Engineering disciplines.
  2. Qualified to BS7671 17th Edition.
  3. Experience with and ideally holding formal qualification in F-Gas.
  4. Experience with maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of fixed assets and public health systems, including but not limited to:
  • LTHW boiler plant, HVAC equipment, CWST, pump sets, standby generators, LV/HV switchgear, cabling, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable).
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, safe working practices and CDM.
  • Professional and client-facing at all times.
  • Strong customer care focus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive every day.
  • Ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
  • Capable of completing essential documentation (paper and PDA) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Must have a driving licence.
