Project Leader

CFC has grown significantly over the last 4 years, and with this continued growth has come a significant increase in business-critical projects. To support our ambitious growth trajectory and keep key projects on track, we are building our team of project leaders to focus on cross-functional change and transformation initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager/Leader to join a fast-growing, innovative insurance business that challenges the status quo.

Working closely with the Senior Portfolio Delivery Manager and other Project Leaders, you will be responsible for professionalising and developing CFC’s project management capabilities, collaborating with stakeholders including the PMO Manager and senior leaders across the business. Your key responsibilities include ensuring the successful delivery of cross-functional projects within scope and timelines, following policies and procedures.

About the role

As Project Leader, you will set the standard of excellence for project teams. You will lead stakeholder discussions to define project scope, timelines, and resource needs for all cross-functional projects. You will oversee all stages of project management, documenting each stage, identifying risks and dependencies, and managing them effectively.

  • Champion, implement, and maintain standardised project management tools and techniques.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures related to project management.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resources, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project needs, plan and allocate resources, and lead the team to successful delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and dependencies to enhance project performance.
  • Mentor and guide project team members.
  • Create detailed progress reports and communicate project status engagingly to stakeholders.
  • Drive decision-making, involving key stakeholders appropriately.
  • Establish and facilitate working groups for each project.
  • Manage project tools and templates, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain effective relationships with the PMO Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Produce and review minutes of project meetings, ensuring clarity and actionability.

About you

You have in-depth knowledge of project management, with a proven track record of delivering cross-functional projects of varying sizes. You have experience in improving project management policies and procedures, with a good understanding of budgeting, control, and strategic planning. Strong organisational and coordination skills are essential to manage the fast-paced workload and deliver goals. Your ability to translate complex information into effective project plans and communicate clearly with stakeholders will be crucial. Building effective relationships across teams and stakeholders is key to your success.
