Travel Health Specialist Job Description
This role involves providing expert advice on travel health, assessing clinical competencies, and maintaining clinical standards. You will work closely with the Lead Nurse to ensure that all aspects of the service are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on travel health, including vaccinations and medications.
- Assess clinical competencies and make recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain clinical standards, ensuring that all staff members are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
- Support the Lead Nurse in managing the service, including staff rotas, annual leave, and sickness absence.
Requirements:
- Must have a BSc equivalent and be registered on part 1 of the NMC register.
- Possess evidence of ongoing professional development and post-registration education relevant to specialties.
- Have experience in teaching and supporting staff development.
- Be familiar with websites and information resources for travel health.
