The Job – Airport Development Manager
You will manage an assigned portfolio of airports and control their cost base by effectively negotiating contracts in a multi-stakeholder environment, manage supplier relationships within your assigned portfolio and collaborate with Airports, Tourism Boards and Governments in this multi-stakeholder environment.
You will deliver on cost saving targets assigned across the allocated network portfolio and will have accurate management of budgeting within your portfolio.
The Team
The Airport Development Team manage a significant proportion of the total easyJet external spend (circa £1.5 billion per annum), covering all elements of airport charges and spend.

How you will do it:
Develop and implement clear short / mid / long term strategies to deliver reductions on airport spend.
Proactively develop a pipeline of innovative initiatives to step change the cost base in the assigned portfolio.
Influence a range of key internal stakeholders to support and buy in to chosen strategy.
Build strong partnerships with airport and tourism board management teams to leverage easyJet’s capacity allocation.
Negotiate airport charges that secure competitive advantage.
Drive continuous improvement within the supply base, and deliver a pipeline of value engineering projects to reduce easyJet spend.
Monitor financial performance against plan and manage variances appropriately.
Maximise support available from airports, tourism boards, development agencies and business development groups for new route development;
Take accountability and ensure appropriate contracts are in place for all airports within the portfolio assigned, including diversion contracts.
Work closely with operations to agree clear service specifications to meet business requirements.
Support supplier management policies to ensure consistent practises and supplier relationships are developed.
Attend airport charges consultations where applicable and collaborate closely with our in-house regulatory team to secure the best outcome for easyJet.
What you will need to do the role:

Focused and effective negotiating skills with proven track record of negotiating high value contracts
Ability to develop and manage internal and external relationships effectively at a variety of levels (up to CEO)
Proven track record of drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
Financial Acumen : Ability to analyse detailed financial and general management information
Team Player
Self-Starter : Displaying determination and drive, with a tenacity to deliver to the bottom line

Location & Hours of Work
This is a full time role. The team are typically in the office 3 days a week. There may be significant travel required.
