Head of Compliance

We’re working with a long-established and highly regarded UK credit provider that continues to grow and innovate in the lending space. They are seeking a senior compliance leader to head their UK Compliance function.

This is a senior leadership role accountable for overseeing business advisory, assurance and monitoring activities across the UK business. The successful candidate will have had SMF16 responsibilities and may also take on the MLRO (SMF17) function, depending on experienc e.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading and developing a strong, diverse compliance team
• Acting as a senior advisor to the UK leadership team and Board
• Shaping regulatory engagement and managing compliance risk across the business
• Working closely with functions including Legal, Risk, Internal Audit and Financial Crime
• Providing clear and commercially relevant compliance input to strategic decisions

What we’re looking for:

• Significant compliance leadership experience in lending and/or payments
• Experience as an SMF16 or equivalent level in a regulated business
• Strong track record of advising senior stakeholders and regulators
• Proven ability to balance commercial objectives with regulatory expectations
• Leadership style that empowers and develops high-performing teams

The business has a flexible hybrid model and this permanent position can be based in either London or Nottingham.
