Job Description
A leading national law firm are currently looking to recruit an experienced Solicitor/Team Leader to join their Public Law & Human Rights department to deal with Claims Against Public Authorities .
You’ll lead the Claims Against Public Authorities team, manage a small caseload, and guide a group of solicitors, fee earners, and support staff. Your job is to ensure excellent legal work, support team development, and help the department run smoothly.

Location : London (Hybrid working up to 2 days in-office per week)
Reports to : Head of Public Law and Human Rights

What You'll Do
- Lead and support your team with regular check-ins, reviews, and coaching
- Oversee performance, set goals, and help the team meet targets
- Ensure compliance with legal aid and regulatory rules
- Manage risks and handle complaints professionally
- Support training and development for team members
- Help with department planning, forecasting, and business development
- Keep a reduced caseload of CAPA matters
What You’ll Need
- Qualified solicitor (Grade A or equivalent)
- Legal Aid supervisor status (CAPA)
- Strong experience in actions against public authorities
- Previous team or people management experience
- Knowledge of legal aid work and procedures
- Great communication, organisation, and IT skills
- A sensitive, client-focused approach
