Role:Finance Manager – Scaling AI Business
Salary:£70–90k + Benefits
Location: London (Hybrid)
A rapidly scaling, venture-backed AI business is looking to hire a Finance Manager to play a pivotal role in the next phase of growth. Operating at the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, the business has strong commercial traction and a highly capable finance function already in place.
This role reports directly into a commercially focused, number-one-in-finance and will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of finance, while managing and developing a small, high-performing team of two.
Candidate profile:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience within a high-growth tech, AI, or SaaS environment
- Strong grounding across financial accounting, reporting, and controls
- Comfortable managing and developing a small finance team
- Confident operating with autonomy in a scaling business
- Commercially aware and able to partner with senior stakeholders
- Enjoys broad, hands‑on responsibility rather than a narrow remit
Primary duties include:
- Owning the core finance function, covering financial accounting, reporting, and controls
- Managing and mentoring a team of two, ensuring high standards and continuous development
- Leading month‑end close and production of accurate, timely management information
- Maintaining balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliations and reviews
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and commercial decision‑making
- Working closely with the Head of Finance / CFO on strategic and commercial initiatives
- Ensuring strong financial controls and scalable processes are in place
- Preparing for and supporting audits and external advisor relationships
- Overseeing revenue recognition and cost control in a fast‑moving AI environment
- Supporting system improvements, automation, and process optimisation
- Acting as a key finance partner to non‑finance teams across the business
- Contributing to longer‑term planning around scale, governance, and future fundraising
