The Opportunity:
The firm is seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Law Solicitor to join its growing team. The successful candidate will manage a broad and varied family law caseload, advising clients through sensitive and often complex matters including divorce, separation, child arrangements and financial settlements.
The role involves working with a diverse client base, from high-net-worth individuals to working parents, providing pragmatic, strategic and empathetic advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a varied family law caseload independently, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children matters
- Cohabitation disputes
- Domestic abuse matters
- Pre- and post-nuptial agreements
- Conducting matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, including advocacy where appropriate
- Providing clear, practical and client-focused legal advice
- Handling matters with discretion, sensitivity and professionalism
- Maintaining regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of progress and options
- Ensuring compliance with SRA regulations, data protection requirements and internal risk management procedures
- Maintaining accurate file management, billing and record-keeping
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and referrers
- Participating in marketing initiatives, networking events and community engagement
- Contributing to the development of the family law practice and the firm’s wider strategic objectives
Key Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of family law and procedure
- Excellent advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to support clients through challenging circumstances
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with case management systems and digital working practices
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Solicitor with family law
- Proven experience of managing a full family law caseload independently
