Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication abilities to guide the team toward achieving sales and KPI targets while providing outstanding service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in effectively running store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets. Set clear sales goals, track performance, and evolve processes to drive store growth.
- Create a positive team culture through recruiting, training and developing staff. Build a motivated, high-performing team to support store success.
- Analyse sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions with the Store Manager and respond to opportunities operationally and commercially.
- Act as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence.
- Provide excellent customer service, address inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
- Support day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding and training new employees.
- Provide feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance.
- Support the Store Manager in maintaining staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
- Contribute to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target.
- Drive KPIs including units, conversion, ATV, and UPT.
- Achieve upselling and cross-selling targets.
- Maintain a high Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Ensure stock accuracy during store audits.
- Ensure all new colleagues complete mandatory training.
- Maintain employee engagement scores meeting or exceeding company benchmarks.
- Assist in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail/customer-facing environment.
- Passionate about retail with a good understanding of the latest trends and competitors.
- Experience coaching and developing individuals.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience analysing KPI data to inform commercial decisions.
- Keen eye for detail and commerciality; visual merchandising experience is advantageous.
