- Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver "better trained sailors to the front line faster".
- Your role will be to support the delivery of training across the Coppersmith/Pipefitter skills area within the Skill of Hand Training group.
- The role is offered on a term‑time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non‑working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. Salary will be pro‑rated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
- You must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design).
- Teach Brazing techniques.
- Maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
- Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches.
- Maintain and update training materials, contributing to modernising and improving training delivery.
- Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards while maintaining a CPD portfolio.
Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an Engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
- Competent practical Coppersmith/Pipefitter hand skills.
- Proven experience in workshop/industry principles.
Desirable Skills / Experience / Qualifications
- Level 4 Teaching Qualification / DCTS Defence Train The Trainer Course or equivalent (successful completion).
- Previous instructional experience in a military or civilian engineering environment.
