We are delighted to be working with a highly local authority to appoint a Director – Housing Services to lead and oversee all aspects of housing delivery and management across the community.
This is a high-profile, strategic role with real responsibility and variety. You’ll shape housing strategy, ensure excellent service delivery, and drive operational and performance improvements across the authority’s housing functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all housing services, including allocations, tenancy management, repairs, and estate management.
- Develop and implement innovative housing strategies that meet community needs and statutory obligations.
- Ensure operational delivery of housing services meets high standards of quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction.
- Advise elected members and senior officers on housing policy, regulatory requirements, and service priorities.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with statutory bodies and other housing stakeholders.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing housing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Oversee budgets, resources, and performance management to achieve organisational objectives.
Qualifications
- Senior leadership experience in housing services, within local government.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, and housing operations.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic plans and drive operational improvements.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and large, complex housing teams.
- Excellent leadership, staff development, and team-building skills.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and partnership building abilities.
