Senior Financial Accountant

Overview

Hedgerway are partnering a leading financial services organisation to hire a Senior Financial Accountant. Based in Leeds city centre, this opportunity offers the chance to join an award winning organisation, where you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping finance processes, driving improvements, and mentoring others.

The Role

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of accounting, balance sheet and control activities – ensuring accuracy, consistency and insight. From leading investigations into complex issues to refining systems and processes, you’ll have the scope to make a real difference. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, auditors, and colleagues across both onshore and offshore teams, while also helping to embed a culture of continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading balance sheet reviews and investigations
• Driving process improvements across finance operations
• Delivering meaningful variance and trend analysis to stakeholders
• Mentoring and developing colleagues within the team
• Playing an active role in finance change projects and programmes

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and control mindset
• Experience resolving complex accounting issues
• A natural problem-solver with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement
• Confident with Excel and comfortable with accounting systems
• Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and guide others
• Hybrid working (2 days in the office)
