Overview
We are partnering with a reputable and growing accountancy practice seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services, and play a key role in supporting junior team members and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, acting as their main point of contact.
- Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and tax returns.
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting issues and ensure compliance with UK accounting standards.
- Support clients with financial planning, forecasting, and business advisory matters.
- Oversee bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll processes where required.
- Review the work of junior accountants, offering feedback and mentoring to support their development.
- Liaise with HMRC and external auditors as necessary.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client service delivery and contribute to business development activities.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of all client assignments.
About You
- ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified (or qualified by experience) with substantial experience in practice or industry.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality accounting services.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, UK GAAP, and taxation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Confident in reviewing the work of others and supporting a collaborative team environment.
- Commercially aware, proactive, and able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
