Veterinary Surgeon - Award winning Hospital

An award‑winning, RCVS‑accredited veterinary hospital with over 50 years of experience is looking for a confident and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join its thriving team. The role is based primarily at the main hospital with occasional work across nearby branches, offering a varied caseload and access to exceptional facilities. From CT imaging and a fully equipped dental suite to 12 operating theatres, the clinical environment is designed for vets to deliver outstanding care while continuing to develop their skills. The team includes 16 vets – seven of whom are certificate holders – plus six more currently studying in areas such as cardiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, surgery, and medicine.

With a dedicated night team on site, there’s no need for out‑of‑hours work. Weekends are shared fairly (1:10 full weekends and 1:5 Saturdays) with time back in lieu. The last weekday appointment is at 6:30 pm, giving a healthy work‑life balance.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care, including consultations, surgeries, and dentistry, within a supportive team environment.
• Work within a schedule that includes day‑time duties and shared weekend coverage.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, specialists, and support staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
• Eligible to register with the RCVS.
