What You'll Be Doing
- Completing waste assessments and classification of construction, demolition and excavation wastes in general accordance with WM3 and other related guidance.
- Managing projects from start to finish, including handling of large data sets, preparing technical reports, managing project finances and liaising with Clients.
- Conduct occasional site visits to undertake sampling, inspection and/or supervision of waste generating practices.
- Identifying and implementing sustainable solutions for waste and materials management in the civils and land development sectors.
- Advising clients on material reuse mechanisms and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting environmental permitting activities, including applications, variations and surrenders.
- Preparing waste and materials management plans and associated documentation.
- Providing clear, practical advice and guidance to clients before, during and after project delivery.
Qualifications
- A degree in Chemistry or a Geoscience-related subject (MSc preferred).
- Demonstrable experience and technical competence in waste classification and assessment in accordance with WM3 and other related guidance (desirable).
- Understanding and knowledge of waste legislation and policy in the UK.
- Experience within the contaminated land sector or working for an environmental consultancy (advantageous but not essential).
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, eager to contribute to projects and the wider team.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to spend some working days away from the office and home at times.
- Located within an hour of Bristol / Manchester.
