Salary £66,000 base + Commission + Car Allowance + Pension + Benefits
Main Purpose
This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing strong customer relationships to support long-term satisfaction and revenue growth. The Account Manager acts as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are understood and translated into effective solutions.
The role involves coordinating internal teams, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to deliver additional value. Through proactive account management and collaboration, the position supports high service standards, commercial performance, and overall business objectives.
Account Role – Key Focus skill/experience
- Rail operators, ROSCOs, OEMs, and system suppliers
- Identify Rolling stock new build, refurbishment, and upgrade programmes for power electronics
- Proven ability of building long-term relationships with engineering, fleet, and procurement teams
- Understanding of train electronics to translate technical needs into commercial proposals
- In the know words– At seat power, traction, Battery chargers, APU, Inverters, power distribution and batteries, Integration, testing, commissioning, and service support
- Ability to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and achievable

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day customer interactions, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues
- Lead account planning across repair programmes, overhauls, and lifecycle extension activities
- Support the preparation of quotations for repairs, spare parts, modifications, and upgrades
- Monitor customer fleets, reliability trends, and maintenance schedules to identify opportunities
- Work closely with engineering and aftersales teams to deliver technical responses
- Escalate and coordinate resolution of quality issues, warranty claims, and repeat failures
- Track performance metrics and customer satisfaction levels
- Identify and secure opportunities in overhaul, refurbishment, and replacement programmes
- Represent the business at customer meetings, site visits, and industry events
- Provide internal feedback on recurring technical or operational issues
- Follow all health and safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment
Qualifications
Essential:
- HNC/HND or degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Experience in account management
Desirable:
- Experience within rail, fleet maintenance, or depot environments
Essential:
- Customer-facing role within rail or rolling stock environments
- Understanding of repair processes, engineering change, and depot operations
Desirable:
- Knowledge of auxiliary power systems, converters, or reliability improvements
