Our client is appointing a Head of Logistics to lead and shape the logistics function at a strategic level within a UK operation. This senior appointment will take ownership of transport, warehousing, distribution, and logistics planning, with a clear focus on service excellence, cost control, compliance, and long‑term operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organisation’s logistics strategy.
- Lead transport, warehousing, distribution, and logistics planning operations.
- Manage budgets, service levels, and logistics performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
- Lead, mentor, and develop logistics management teams.
- Ensure compliance with UK transport, safety, and operational regulations.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Support wider business strategy and operational planning.
- Oversee network optimisation and capacity planning.
- Drive continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Significant senior‑level experience in logistics or supply chain leadership.
- Strong understanding of transport, warehousing, and distribution operations.
- Proven leadership and change management experience.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
- Experience in KPI management, budgeting, and service improvement.
- Relevant logistics, supply chain, or management qualification is desirable.
