Your role: Senior Product Manager
We are looking for a highly motivated, self‑driven Senior Product Manager to join the Commercial Operations & Technology team on a 12‑month maternity cover contract. You will own the product roadmap and delivery for commercial products, technology and digital advertising across News UK’s portfolio, including The Times, The Sunday Times, Broadcasting, The Sun, and related tech initiatives.
Day to day you will:
- Collaborate with the head of commercial technology and key stakeholders to develop, maintain and deliver a product roadmap across websites and apps.
- Capture initiatives and align development dependencies in quarterly planning (PI Planning) processes to drive business outcomes.
- Prioritize the product roadmap with the commercial leadership team, aligning with overarching KPIs and objectives across cross‑functional projects.
- Champion commercial products in product, design and engineering activities, ensuring stakeholder insight and decisions are integrated from project inception.
- Proactively monitor and analyze commercial performance data to support roadmap progress and identify continuous improvements.
- Research industry trends and changes impacting digital advertising technology, investigating new approaches and opportunities for the roadmap.
- Build business cases and present product visions to senior stakeholders.
- Work closely with business analysts and engineering to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
- Support project managers to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality products.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience in product management with a track record of technical achievement.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex digital products in fast‑moving environments.
- Experience managing a technical roadmap for web and/or app development.
- Strong communication, presentation and relationship‑management skills.
- Influencing and storytelling abilities to justify priorities and product decisions.
- Initiative to proactively identify new product opportunities.
- Understanding of data analysis and stakeholder feedback loops for continuous improvement.
- Commercial or advertising experience is a significant benefit.
- Knowledge of web or app development life cycles.
- Eagerness to learn quickly.
