Job Purpose
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will support both LEVC — the established UK business responsible for the London Taxi — and Geely Auto UK, the distributor of Geely new energy vehicles in the UK. You will deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice at all levels, manage legal and regulatory risk, protect the companies’ reputations, and support informed business decision-making.
Main Responsibilities
- Partner with the Fleet Sales and Operations (including Procurement, Logistics and Financial Services) teams of Geely Auto UK as a trusted adviser and first point of contact for all legal queries.
- Deliver all commercial contracting requirements for these teams and provide ongoing support in relation to those commercial contracts.
- Deliver financial services compliance advice for retail car finance.
- Deliver all other such legal requirements of these teams either yourself or in collaboration with or through another member of the Legal Team.
- Work closely with these teams in relation to the maintenance and development of all policies and procedures which relate to their engagement with legal matters and the Legal team.
- Wider support to the Legal team and businesses if/when necessary.
Education, Training, And Experience
- Qualified lawyer in law of England and Wales.
- Law Society practising certificate.
- Experience gained in private practice, in-house, or ideally, a combination.
- Strong experience advising on commercial legal matters.
- Retail finance and B2C experience necessary.
- Experience of business partnering with senior management and their teams.
- Automotive experience.
