Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 + bonus and benefits

I’m working exclusively with a genuinely exciting, forward‑thinking performance marketing agency that's redefining what SEO means in an AI‑led world.

They’re now looking for a Head of SEO / GEO to take full ownership of their organic search and discoverability offering – across traditional SEO, AI search, community‑driven signals and everything in between.

This is a senior, visible role with real influence. You’ll shape the direction of the practice, grow and mentor a high‑performing team, and work directly with ambitious brands who want to stay ahead of the curve.

The Role

As Head of SEO / GEO, you’ll set the strategic vision for organic search and AI‑led discoverability, while still keeping close to delivery on key accounts.

You’ll be the agency’s go‑to authority for SEO and emerging search channels, with a clear mandate to innovate and evolve the offering.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the agency's SEO / GEO strategy across traditional and AI‑powered search
• Own the roadmap for the SEO practice, driving innovation and new services to market
• Act as a strategic advisor to Tier 1 clients, ensuring SEO activity aligns with broader business goals
• Oversee high‑level strategy, audits and deliverables to ensure quality and impact
• Translate performance into clear, compelling narratives for clients and stakeholders
• Lead and mentor the SEO team, fostering a strong learning and testing culture
• Play a key role in pitches and new business growth
• Champion the smart use of AI and automation tools across workflows
• Represent the agency through thought leadership, events, content and industry presence

What They’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading SEO strategies for large or global brands (agency‑side)
• A strategic, visionary mindset – you can spot where search is going, not just where it’s been
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing teams
• Confidence operating at board / senior stakeholder level
• A commercially minded approach, balancing innovation with profitability
• Curiosity around AI, automation and the evolving search landscape
• Bonus points for exposure to Python, Regex, Apps Script or similar (not essential)
