Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic systems from concept through to production.
- Provide expert technical guidance on all areas of electronics.
- Analyse electronic circuits.
- Generate requirements for electronic systems.
- Capture schematics and designs.
- Provide PCB layout advice and review.
- Select and review components.
- Take on varied engineering tasks to support projects and programs.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Interface with customers on technical and project issues.
- Document your work in line with local operating procedures.
- Take an active role in Continuous Improvement.
Essential: Qualifications / skills required
- A minimum of HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, demonstrating your strong education background.
- Extensive experience in electronic design, ideally in a regulated or high‑reliability industry.
- A team player mentality, thriving in a collaborative and supportive work environment. Quick learner with a flexible and adaptable approach.
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Strong analogue circuit design and simulation experience.
- Electronics communication protocol experience, e.g. RS485, I2C, SPI.
- Experience with schematic capture and drawing review.
- Understanding of PCB layout supervision.
- Ability to plan own tasks and communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
Desirable
- Experience with EMC design.
- Digital circuit design.
- Wiring definition experience.
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Experience working within the defence or aerospace.
