Our high growth client in the energy and renewables services industry are looking for a new Group Accountant to join their growing team in London. This is an exciting position for a fast paced buy and build company, reporting into the Group Financial Controller.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS/UK GAAP.
- Manage the group month‑end close process, reviewing subsidiary submissions, resolving queries, and ensuring consistent application of accounting policies.
- Produce high‑quality management information, including variance analysis, commentary, and insight into group financial performance.
- Support the preparation of the statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for the external audit, preparing schedules, answering technical queries, and driving timely completion.
- Maintain and update the group accounting policies, ensuring consistent application across entities and providing guidance where required.
- Review group balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and financial control across all entities.
- Prepare and monitor group cashflow forecasts, liquidity reports, and working capital analysis.
The ideal candidate will be a newly qualified ACA, ideally from a Big 4 or top 10 accounting firm with strong technical exposure including a high level of IFRS understanding and group consolidation experience. Being a high growth start‑up, this role requires a strong self starter and motivated individual who is capable of delivering consistently to strict deadlines and reporting targets.
