The Legendre Group’s Engineering Department is seeking for a SeniorMethodsEngineer based in London.This new role is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivatedindividual eager to contribute to the growth of our international offices.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Group Temporary Works & MethodsDirector in France and the Preconstruction Director in London, you will leadthe temporary works and method studies for the construction projects in Londonand the Channel Islands during both the preconstruction and execution phases. Youwill collaborate closely with estimating, design, and construction teams toensure seamless project delivery.
- Lead temporaryworks and methods design activities for preconstruction and constructionprojects phases.
- Analyseprojects at the preconstruction stage anddevelop innovative engineeringsolutions for construction methodologies
- Prepare siteinstallation plan, logistics studies, project methodology and phasing plan.
- Develop temporaryworks and method design documentation, including day-by-day sequence of works,method statements, formwork and temporary works design brief.
- Providedesign solutions for a varietyof temporary works such, as excavations, workingplatforms, formwork, falsework, scaffolding, or selection of constructionplants and equipment, including lifting equipment.
- Collaboratewith temporary works designers, check engineers, structural engineers, andsupply chain partners to enhance health, safety, and production standards.
- SupportLegendre’s self-delivery structural activities, focusing on concrete framedelivery, with detailed method, formwork, and temporary works studies.
- Produceconstruction programme, using planning and project management software, such asAsta Powerproject.
- Organiseand manage the workload schedule for Methods activities for Legendre International.
- Opportunityto work for Group Legendre project outside of the UK (International andFrance).
- Workclosely with the Estimating Team to price the Preliminaries booklet and gatheraccurate supply chain feedback to inform tender estimates.
Profile
- Provenexperience as a SeniorMethod Engineer in theconstruction industry.
- Civil orStructural Engineering Degree, with at least 5 years' experience in methods ordesign departments, whether for contractors, subcontractors, specialistsuppliers, or consultants.
- Membershipof a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE) is preferred or willingness topursue membership.
- You have passedthe relevant Temporary Works Design and Coordinator courses.
- Strongknowledge of UK legislation applicable to construction, including the Healthand Safety at Work Act 1974, CDM 2015, and BS EN 5975.
- Experiencein building new build and refurbishment projects (Cut and carve, façaderetention, complex urban project).
- Strongtechnical expertiseof reinforced concrete frame and temporary works.
- Ability tocreate sketches, 3D model views, and detailed construction methodologies.
- Competentin CAD, BIM, Revit, and Navisworks for 3D modelling and visualisation.
- Excellentcommunication skills across all project levels. You are meticulous, adaptable,well-organized, and capable of building strong relationships.
- Proficiencyin French in a professional context is highly desirable.
