The Assistant Dean for Health Sciences reports to the Dean of Health Sciences and Director of Nursing and serves as a division-level academic leader responsible for advancing the strategic priorities of the Health Sciences programs. The Assistant Dean provides leadership and oversight for fiscal management, continuous quality improvement, and academic excellence across assigned programs. The Assistant Dean exercises delegated decision-making authority within assigned Health Sciences programs and operates under the general direction of the Dean of Health Sciences and Director of Nursing. This role exercises delegated authority in the recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and supervision of full-time and adjunct faculty and coordinates faculty orientation, mentoring, and ongoing professional development initiatives.

The Assistant Dean champions student success by addressing student concerns and supporting initiatives that promote enrollment, retention, and completion. In collaboration with divisional leadership, the Assistant Dean supports curriculum development and revision efforts and facilitates industry partnerships that strengthen program quality, workforce alignment, and experiential learning opportunities, including apprenticeships and internships. The Assistant Dean also coordinates academic scheduling, identifies facility and resource needs, and ensures that faculty and students meet all regulatory, accreditation, and clinical participation requirements.
