Job Description

Role: Platform Engineer

Locations: Glasgow / Edinburgh (may require travel to client sites across the UK)

Salary: Competitive salary and package (dependent on experience)

Background Check: Any offer subject to satisfactory BPSS and SC security clearance, which requires 5 years of continuous UK address history at the point of application.

Responsibilities

In our team you will work hand‑in‑hand with clients to build digital products, deploying mastery and leading others. You will act as a key advocate for efficient solutions, contributing to client work and to internal engineering communities.

AI: You’ll adopt AI‑assisted engineering practices—such as GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo—for code generation, testing, documentation, and analysis, while understanding model limitations, protecting client data, and improving delivery quality and speed through pragmatic automation.

SRE & Observability: Bring a reliability mindset to delivery, design services operable by default, measure through SLIs/SLOs, implement observability (logging, metrics, distributed tracing), and contribute to or lead incident response and post‑incident reviews for learning and improvement.

Job Qualifications

• AWS cloud platform experience and core services.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes (build, deploy, operations in production).
• Proven use of Infrastructure as Code, e.g., AWS CDK.
• Working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) within Agile/DevOps teams.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps best practices.
