We are now seeking two Analysts to join our Consumer Protection and Competition directorate, within either the Consumer & Compliance Intelligence or the Market Intelligence team. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to high‑profile analytical work at the heart of energy retail regulation, supporting monitoring, reporting and assessment of competition, consumer protection and the impacts of retail energy policies.
As an Analyst, you will work with large and complex data sets to generate insights that inform decision‑making across Ofgem. You will contribute to business‑as‑usual monitoring activities, respond to unplanned data requests at pace, and support the production of analytical reports, briefings and regulatory outputs. Your work will help ensure that Ofgem’s approach to pricing and consumer protection is evidence‑based, proportionate and responsive to market developments.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across policy, compliance and analytical teams, as well as engaging with external stakeholders including energy suppliers, consumer bodies and other government departments. Strong communication skills will be essential as you translate analytical findings into clear, accessible messages for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
You will also be part of Ofgem’s Analysis Profession, benefiting from structured professional development, training, mentoring and opportunities to work flexibly across the organisation on cross‑Ofgem projects. This is a role well suited to someone with a curious mindset, strong analytical capability and a desire to use data and evidence to make a meaningful difference for energy consumers.
