Family Assessment Worker (Developing Practitioner)

£28,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience)
Role Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality parenting assessments within a residential family setting, contributing to observations, recordings, and day-to-day support of families under assessment. This is a development role, designed for individuals progressing into family assessment work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment Support
- Support structured observations of parent-child interactions
- Record daily observations clearly, factually, and in line with assessment frameworks
- Contribute to evidence gathering under direction of senior staff
- Direct Work with Families
- Build professional, boundary relationships with parents
- Support routines (feeding, sleep, emotional regulation guidance)
- Model safe and appropriate parenting behaviours where required
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience working with children, families, or in residential care
- Experience in a Health and Social Care setting
- Basic understanding of safeguarding and child development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent)
- Exposure to family assessment environments
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
