An exciting opportunity is available for a Cyber Security Consultant to join a rapidly growing team focused on shaping cyber strategy, risk management, and transformation programmes for leading organisations.
This role sits within a large, high-performing Technology and Transformation practice, offering the chance to collaborate with hundreds of cyber specialists across the UK. The Opportunity
This position offers the chance to work on complex and high-impact engagements, supporting clients in defining and delivering cyber security strategies and transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising senior stakeholders and executives on cyber security strategy, adopting a risk-based approach to support digital business transformation
- Designing and delivering cyber transformation programmes aligned to organisational objectives
- Developing governance models, operating frameworks, and cyber maturity roadmaps
- Supporting organisations in achieving and maintaining regulatory compliance while enhancing overall cyber resilience
- Helping clients embed cyber security as a core enabler of business growth and innovation
- Working in a fast-paced environment, the consultant will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address some of the most pressing cyber challenges faced by organisations today.
Successful candidates will bring a combination of technical cyber expertise and strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, enabling them to translate complex security challenges into practical business solutions.
Technical Requirements
- Proven experience in cyber security, cyber risk, or cyber strategy roles
- Strong understanding of key areas such as cyber strategy, governance, risk & compliance (GRC), security architecture, and cyber transformation
- Experience working with recognised frameworks and standards, including National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF), International Organization for Standardization 27001, National Cyber Security Centre CAF, European Union GDPR, and NIS2
- Ability to assess cyber maturity and develop risk-based improvement roadmaps
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Consulting & Delivery Skills
- Experience building trusted client relationships and working with senior stakeholders, including C-suite and board-level executives
- Exposure to business development activities, including proposals and tender responses
- Ability to lead and contribute to teams across delivery and pre-sales activities
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing and presentations
- Experience working across sectors such as government, public sector, financial services, or large private organisations
- Familiarity with project delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall
- Experience managing distributed teams across different locations and cultures
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc in Cyber Security or related field)
- Broader experience across cyber domains, including threat management, vulnerability management, security architecture, and cyber assurance
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance
- Previous experience in a consulting or advisory environment
