Transport Coordinator – Watford
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Full-time)
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join their busy and fast-paced logistics operation based in Watford. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with a strong background in coordinating HGV movements and managing day-to-day transport activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing and scheduling of HGVs
- Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing clear instructions and ongoing support
- Monitor vehicle movements to ensure timely deliveries and collections
- Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, including driver hours and tachograph regulations
- Liaise with internal teams, customers, and third-party providers to maintain service levels
- Manage and resolve any transport-related issues or delays proactively
- Maintain accurate transport records and documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transport function
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Transport Coordinator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of HGV operations and UK transport regulations
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Competent in transport planning systems and Microsoft Office
