We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Advanced Clinical Practitioners (Band 8a) to join our Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) service, where you will play a key role in advancing our Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) agenda.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while contributing to service development and innovation within a dynamic and fast-paced MSDEC environment. You will be supported by a strong and experienced leadership team, including operational and medical leaders, Senior ACPs, a Care Group Lead ACP, and the Trust Lead ACP.
Our ACP team at Walsall NHS Trust has been rated “outstanding” by the CQC and is recognised for excellence in clinical practice, education, and research.
We are committed to your ongoing professional development. Our comprehensive post-qualification framework enables ACPs to tailor their non-clinical time, focusing on research, leadership, or education in line with their career aspirations.
By joining us, you will become part of a team that is internationally recognised for leadership in Advanced Clinical Practice—where your contribution will help shape the future of healthcare delivery.
The post holder will practise independently as a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) within the Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) pathway. This clinically focused role will include responsibilities in patient management, departmental coordination, service development, and contributions to education and mentorship.
The role will encompass advanced skills in assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice across the designated directorate. The post holder will support the safe management, referral, and discharge of patients within MSDEC, ensuring high standards of patient-centred care within the Division of Medicine.
The post holder will also be expected to maintain and further develop Walsall’s national reputation for excellence in advanced clinical practice. This will include contributing to the development of the ACP workforce and supporting the supervision of trainees, with a focus on increasing high‑quality one‑to‑one support in collaboration with medical colleagues.
