We are supporting the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Manager on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers based in the South West. The firm provides a comprehensive range of services including statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance and planning, management reporting, and strategic advisory support to a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses and private clients across the UK.

Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing a full range of accounting and advisory services
- Prepare and review statutory year-end accounts in accordance with relevant standards
- Review corporation tax and income tax computations and returns
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Act as a primary point of contact for client queries and ongoing support
- Deliver business advisory services through client meetings and strategic planning discussions
- Ensure all client deadlines and compliance requirements are met
- Monitor workflow, billing processes, and portfolio administration
- Liaise with senior leadership on technical matters and ad hoc assignments
- Support business development initiatives and promote additional service offerings
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior members of the team
Requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Significant experience gained within an accountancy practice environment
- Demonstrable experience managing a client portfolio
- Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and associated taxation matters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supervising and supporting junior staff
- Commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
