The Department of Physiology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications and nominations from talented individuals to fill a full time, tenure‑track Assistant/Associate Professor position to complement and extend departmental and campus‑wide research in the areas of cardiovascular and renal physiology and diseases.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position are to maintain a vigorous, creative, nationally funded research program, supervise graduate students, and teach physiology to medical and dental students.

Qualifications

Interested in candidates with active research programs to complement existing departmental strengths in cardiovascular and renal diseases, diabetes, ion channel physiology, signal transduction, mitochondrial biology, injury and repair. The qualified candidate will have an excellent record of research accomplishments and national funding. The successful candidate will have an outstanding opportunity to take advantage of the exceptional collaborative opportunities and excellent resources available in the Department of Physiology, Division of Cardiology, UT Health Science Center campus, and local and statewide hospitals to develop collaborative research programs.
