Senior Sister/Charge Nurse – Band 7
We’re seeking a compassionate, driven and dedicated Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Children’s cross site Outpatient Departments at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of nurses within the Children’s Outpatient Department.
- Provide expert clinical care and guidance to the team, ensuring patient safety and well‑being.
- Coordinate the delivery of high‑quality outpatient services for children and their families.
- Work closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care for all patients.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, ensuring continuous improvement in care delivery.
- Support the development and mentorship of junior staff and nursing students.
- Manage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and ensure smooth operational management of the department.
Qualifications
- A registered nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Extensive experience in paediatrics, with a passion for working with children and their families.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, proactive approach to problem‑solving and patient care.
- Experience in managing outpatient services and multidisciplinary collaboration is desirable.
