Position: Function Co‑ordinator
Position Details
Hours per week: 37.5, Monday–Sunday. Pay: £13.42 per hour. Location: Worthy Down Barracks, Winchester (SO21 2RG).
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to Unit and Mess Managers
- Support the Events and Bar Manager with functions and pre‑event preparations
- Manage function bookings and daily catering requests
- Handle cash, including balancing monies and processing payments
- Prepare and issue Mess bills in line with procedures
- Greet guests and respond to queries in a professional manner
- Answer calls, take messages, and manage incoming mail
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Support team operations, meetings, and general office tasks
- Ensure work areas are clean, organised, and compliant with standards
- Report incidents, faults, or safety concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Essential: Strong verbal and written communication skills; Good organisational and administrative abilities
- Desirable: Experience working in a military environment; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
