About the Client
HSB Technical's client is a very established and well-regarded business entity.
Overview
Typically, this person will ensure all shipboard mechanical/electrical machinery and navigation electronics are operated and maintained in a safe, efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Have full budgetary responsibility of assigned vessels - ensuring they are always operational, safe, and efficient
- Ensure planned vessel inspections are carried out, including preparation of the vessel for appropriate class/flag inspections
- Take the lead on ensuring everyday maintenance and physical repairs, dry docks - and making sure this work is carried out to the required industry standards
- Be a Technical Vessel expert to support land-based and on-board personnel
Qualifications
- Someone with existing shoreside experience in a similar post, coupled with a background to 2nd Engineer and above, or a strong Ship Repair background
- Any additional Electrical Engineering exposure and ability to read electrical drawings is very advantageous
- A problem solver that comes up with realistic solutions
- Excellent communicator
- Good eye for detail and report-writing skills
- Must have the immediate right to live and work in the UK
