Job Description
Take on the challenge of providing competition law and regulatory advice and support to Sky in the UK and Ireland, influencing key business decisions and strategies across Sky’s fast‑moving businesses. This role offers a variety of high‑quality, challenging work at a standard rarely found outside private practice.
What You’ll Do
- Advise the business on all aspects of competition law, including horizontal and vertical agreements, and support commercial teams in negotiations and M&A activity.
- Advise on economic and regulatory matters affecting Sky, such as new product launches and access to satellite platforms.
- Assist in developing Sky’s regulatory strategy across a broad range of sectors, preparing internal and external submissions on matters of strategic importance, and responding to new legislation and policy proposals.
- Manage Sky’s relationships with regulators, including Ofcom and the Competition and Markets Authority.
- Prepare and deliver training on competition law and regulation to the business and the wider legal team.
- Support the Director of Legal and Head Counsel in prioritising workstreams, managing resources, and supervising junior members.
- Collaborate with commercial, finance and legal colleagues in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria, and the wider Comcast / NBCU Group to deliver products and services to Sky customers.
- Contribute to an inclusive and diverse work environment within the Legal & Business Affairs department.
What You’ll Bring
- Post‑qualification competition law and/or regulatory experience at a law firm, in‑house legal team or regulator.
- Strong understanding of the UK legal system and relevant industry competition law.
- Excellent verbal and drafting skills with the ability to provide clear, concise advice.
- Analytical skills, prioritisation ability, and openness to expanding across sectors and issues.
- Strong communication and people skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to operate independently.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to identify customer‑focused solutions.
- Tech‑savvy communication skills across audiences.
