Optometrist - Part Time FTC

Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Optometrist to join our amazing and supportive clinical team in our prestige private Manchester Eye Hospital. Please note this is a fixed‑term contract of 6‑12 months, offering part‑time hours of 27.5 hours a week across 3 days.

The Role

As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside consultants, you will carry out pre‑ and post‑operative consultations, assess the suitability of patients for treatment, and provide first‑line clinical advice. Your key responsibilities include:

• Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery
• Run acute and follow‑up clinics postsurgery, documenting findings in electronic medical record systems
• Provide health advice and support to patients attending the hospital
• Provide first‑line clinical advice and refer to a medical practitioner when necessary
• Ensure awareness of equipment safety precautions and handling within the clinical competency framework
• Maintain awareness of CQC policies and attend all mandatory update courses

Requirements

• Current GOC registration as a fully qualified optometrist
• Extensive experience working as an optometrist in a refractive, high‑street or hospital environment
• Experience using patient administration systems and electronic medical record systems
• Experience working to conversion targets and other KPIs within vision correction
