Senior Employment Solicitor

A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is entering an exciting period of growth and is seeking a Senior Employment Solicitor to play a key role in shaping and developing its employment law offering.

This is a strategic, senior-level position offering genuine autonomy and the opportunity to build and expand a practice area within a supportive and forward‑thinking firm.

The Role

As part of the firm’s wider Litigation team, the successful candidate will take a lead role in developing the employment department, managing a varied caseload, and driving business growth.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the firm’s employment law service
• Managing a broad caseload of both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Driving business development initiatives and identifying new opportunities
• Collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices to support cross‑referrals
• Contributing to the firm’s wider marketing and growth strategy

The Candidate

The firm is looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Qualification as a Solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE in employment law
• Strong technical expertise across a range of employment matters
• Confidence in business development and networkingA proactive, commercial approach with a desire to grow a practice area
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team

A client following would be advantageous but is not essential.

Location & Working Pattern

The role can be based at any of the firm’s offices across Devon and Somerset, with hybrid working available following an initial settling‑in period. Some travel between offices will be required for client meetings and internal collaboration.
