Major Works & Dispute Resolution Officer – Harlow District Council

Fixed Term, Full Time | £37,280 to £39,152 per annum | Location: Harlow | Closing Date: 10th May 2026

Harlow Council is seeking a Major Works & Dispute Resolution Officer to join our Home Ownership team. The role will manage and deliver all statutory consultations relating to works carried out to flat blocks, ensuring full compliance and accountability throughout the process. The successful applicant will play a key role in maximising the recovery of major works costs by resolving disputes efficiently and in line with the Council’s agreed policies and procedures, while delivering a high‑quality, value‑for‑money, and customer‑focused housing service.

• 5 GCSEs including English and Maths, grades A–C or equivalent Level 4.
• Experience working in a similar post.
• Knowledge of the statutory consultation process for works in flat blocks.
• Understanding of new legislation and ability to contribute to improvements.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to build on existing customer relationships.
• Valid driving licence and own vehicle or alternative suitable transport.
