Senior Payroll Analyst – Fixed Term (Remote, United Kingdom)
The Senior Payroll Analyst ensures accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll while working closely with Local Finance and People teams. The role provides timely and accurate financial information, participates in payroll processing, tax duties, and holiday processing, and serves as a mentor and reference for payroll staff.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Maintains payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data provided via the People team’s system of record
- Update payroll records, insurance coverage, savings deductions, variable pay information and other pay impacting information in payroll systems.
- Ensure all packages and benefits are legal.
- Oversee pension and savings plans.
- Perform daily payroll department operations.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll impacting transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
- Execute time and attendance / holiday processing and interfaces with payroll.
- Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
- Assists with the funding of 3rd parties, bank entities, government agencies, and benefit providers.
- Assists with ongoing internal and external audits.
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Complies with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Project management of continued enhancement and management of payroll processing across specific regions.
