Job Title: Manufacturing Manager – Zr (Chemicals Plant)
Location: Swinton, Manchester
Hours: Full-time, 37hrs/week (on call for emergencies)

We design and manufacture high‑quality products. We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to lead our Zr chemicals manufacturing function.
What you’ll do
- Lead the Zr manufacturing team to meet customer demand while driving LEAN process improvements, cost reductions, and waste minimisation.
- Report on all KPIs, including financial, operational, HSE, quality, and HR metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering and planning teams to deliver sustainable operational and preventative maintenance strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement and implement a data‑driven, LEAN culture across the plant.
- Ensure prompt resolution of audit findings, quality issues, and customer feedback.
What we’re looking for
- Proven track record of leading process improvements that deliver measurable results.
- Experienced in driving lasting cultural and operational change across a business.
Essential Criteria
- Degree in engineering, chemistry or closely related subject
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English, Maths and Science (Grade C/4).
- IT literate with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- At least 5 years leadership experience within chemical manufacturing.
Desirables
- A supervisory qualification such as ILM Level 5, or equivalent leadership qualification.
- Lean Six Sigma Black belt
- Environmental management, awareness and understanding (ISO 14001)
- Direct experience of driving through sustainable quality improvements.
- SAP experience
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of building systems, safety standards and regulations.
- Experience in workplace design, ergonomics or employee experience initiatives.
