Business Development Manager (BDM) – Logistics including Industrial Design & Build sectors

About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead growth within the Logistics including the Industrial Design & Design sector, supporting opportunities in the stake holder chain
This is a strategic role focused on developing a sustainable pipeline of projects, building key relationships, and positioning RIDI as a lighting partner of choice.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Market Development
- Develop and execute a clear growth strategy within this Industrial sector
- Position RIDI’s Linia Evo as a leading solution across key applications
- Identify and secure opportunities with installers, developers, specifiers, and end users
- Build and maintain a strong, sustainable pipeline of projects
Design & Build Engagement
- Actively support D&B opportunities including data centres and soft spec projects
- Collaborate closely with the existing RIDI sales team to maximise opportunities
- Develop relationships with key D&B contractors to ensure ongoing project flow
- Build and manage key account relationships across the sector
- Develop targeted account plans aligned with the UK business strategy
- Deliver against sales targets through a mix of new build and refurbishment projects
Product & Technical Expertise
- Promote RIDI’s full solution offering, including:
- Controls
- Central battery systems
- Stay current with industry standards, legislation, and sustainability requirements
- Deliver CPDs, customer presentations, and factory visits
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
- Adapt strategy to maintain a competitive edge
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular performance reports
About You
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within lighting, electrical, or specification markets
- Strong understanding of warehousing, logistics, or industrial sectors
- Technically competent in lighting solutions and controls
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas
