Monday to Friday - 40 hours - Variable Shifts

£45,000 - £50,000 per annum

We're looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead our transport operation at Riddings. You'll be responsible for managing drivers, fleet performance and compliance, ensuring vehicles are on the road, standards are met, and the operation runs efficiently day to day.

This is a practical, hands‑on leadership role suited to someone comfortable operating in a busy, changeable logistics environment.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a key transport operation within a recognised and growing logistics group, where reliability, compliance and performance are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day management of the transport operation
• Leading and managing drivers and agency resources
• Ensuring compliance with DVSA, CPC and H&S regulations
• Fleet servicing, inspections, VOR management and defect control
• Monitoring drivers' hours and investigating infringements
• Managing accidents, incidents and damage reporting
• Working closely with planning and customer service teams
• Tracking KPIs, costs and operational performance

Essential

• Proven experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport supervisory role
• Current Transport Manager CPC holder
• Proven experience managing drivers and vehicle fleets
• Strong understanding of transport compliance and legislation
• Confident IT user
• Resilient, proactive and solutions‑focused

Desirable

• Pallet network, 3PL or distribution experience
• 5+ years' experience in transport management, or demonstrable significant experience managing complex transport operations within a fast‑paced distribution environment
