Role Overview

Checkout.com is seeking a talented and dynamic Legal Counsel with a strong global employment law background to join our Employment Legal team. This role will involve advising on the full spectrum of employment law issues across our global business.

You will work closely with our People Team and other key stakeholders in our offices around the globe. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a global employment lawyer, playing a key role in supporting the company with employees across the UK, EMEA, APAC and the Americas as we grow and mature. You will need to take a consultative and collaborative approach to handling complex and varied employment law issues, leading advice in a number of these countries and collaborating on other global employment law projects.

You’ll advise on a full range of employment-related issues, including but not limited to hiring, contractual issues, policies, compensation and benefits (including an employee share scheme), HR compliance, restrictive covenants, performance management, misconduct investigations, employee relations, terminations and employment litigation. You’ll help the employment law team develop processes and templates to address employment issues in a practical and efficient way, including through the use of AI tools.

You will be able to handle multiple areas of responsibilities autonomously, demonstrating excellent critical judgment with a hands‑on approach. You will report into our Associate General Counsel (Head of Employment) based in London.
