Wei is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Rates Applications Support Senior Analyst within our global support team located in the London trading floor. The Fixed Income Rates eTrading production support team provides direct support to a diverse set of trading desks under the “Rates” banner. Your responsibilities will be aligned to supporting the eTrading platform and tools that the front office business & traders’ needs to facilitate its franchise within Citi, providing exposure to the entire breadth of the Rates Technology. We are the main line of technical defence as we work closely with partners in our business including Trading, Sales, Operations & Risk and Controls to operate stable platforms to enable us to be the best for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage our suite of core Rates (G10 and Local Markets) applications, work through problems, and address user issues.
- Drive engineering initiatives, improve process workflows, and reduce toil through automation by building/implementing solutions.
- Provide Front Office technical and business support to traders, with a strong understanding of Fixed Income/Rates products and rapid issue resolution.
- Operate production systems, perform daily checks, continuous monitoring, regional handovers, and maintain SLAs; handle incidents, triage, escalation, communication, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Liaise between users/traders, internal technology groups, and vendors; prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to senior stakeholders, coach junior analysts, and develop/maintain technical support documentation and operating standards.
Qualifications
- Front Office Support: experience providing technical and business support to Front Office users in a financial institution; strong understanding of Fixed Income/Rates products and rapid issue resolution.
- Production Operations & Incident Management: experience maintaining critical application systems, daily checks, monitoring, handovers, and SLAs; capable in incident handling, triage, escalation, communication, troubleshooting, and resolution.
- Technical Proficiency: hands-on experience in Linux environments, including system administration, bash scripting, and relational databases.
- Problem Resolution: ability to assess risk/impact of production issues, define scope for complex resolution, and drive enhancements for stability and efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: effective liaison between users/traders, technology teams, and vendors; prioritizes bug fixes and tooling needs with clear communication.
- Education: Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Nice-to-have / Beneficial Skills
- Experience communicating with stakeholders (EU Govies, GILTS, Repo traders, etc.).
- Experience with eTrading platforms, market connectivity (ION), order management and lifecycle.
- Understanding of Bonds, Swaps, Repo, trading, risk and pricing; Python, Grafana, Linux, SQL, KDB knowledge.
- Experience with incident management tools (ServiceNow, JIRA).
- Ability to identify, implement, and drive adoption of Generative AI solutions to optimize workflows.
- Trade floor support experience; OpenTelemetry (OTEL) knowledge for monitoring and troubleshooting.
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience operating in a similar role.
