Investec are looking for an experienced senior Business Analyst to work on a major change initiative for our EU business.
We’re looking for a strong Business Analysis skillset, including process mapping and requirements gathering. This role sits in the Chief Operating Office, supporting large-scale, bank-wide programmes. As a Projects BA, you’ll coordinate analysis across initiatives, help define requirements and processes, support benefits realisation, and ensure regulatory alignment. This is a cross-functional, matrix-role not tied to a single product set, with specialist BA work carried out by platform teams (e.g., Payments, Risk).
In addition to the Change BA skillset, there are some knowledge areas that, whilst not essential, would be considered useful in the role, these include:
- Regulatory reporting including EU banking regulatory reporting / risk reporting exposure
- CRD VI experience
- Internal regulatory experience
- Liquidity risk exposure / open market operations knowledge
- Any experience with operationalising banking businesses in the EU, especially related to lending and funding
What you’ll be doing
- Lead business analysis across initiatives: requirements gathering (traditional or Agile), gap analysis, problem solving, target operating model, and process design/re-engineering.
- Facilitate workshops and working groups; define business outcomes and support the business case and benefits realisation.
- Ensure consistency with agreed BA standards, artefacts, and processes across the Specialist Bank.
- Limited User Acceptance Testing input and guidance for test scripting and execution.
- Plan and manage analysis activities within workstreams; manage stakeholder expectations and provide progress reporting.
- Maintain risk and issue awareness; track time and manage priorities across multiple projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with key delivery teams, including platform SMEs; operate effectively in a matrix environment.
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in the Banking sector (essential)
- (Desirable exposure) in regulatory reporting, in areas such as: EU reg reporting; CRD VI; local Irish Prudential; Internal regulatory reporting.
- Liquidity risk experience / understanding of Open Market operations (desirable)
- Experience in EU Banking operating processes (desirable)
- Core competencies: business process mapping (as-is/to-be), requirements gathering/management, business systems analysis, target operating model, change management, benefits realisation; knowledge of Agile and Waterfall.
- Extensive experience authoring BA artefacts: Business Process Maps, BRD/FRD, test cases, requirement catalogues, business cases, and test approaches.
- Proficient in structured analysis methods; able to tailor approaches to fit the project.
- Self-starter with a track record of independently driving BA activities; adherence to BA standards; experience leading analytical workshops.
- Personal attributes: clear communicator, credible influencer, proactive, detail-oriented yet able to see the big picture, comfortable with ambiguity, and a collaborative team player.
