We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to join a busy school in Pontefract. This is a key role in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors.
About the role:- Working Hours: 37 hours per week
- Monday - Friday: Between hours of 6 AM and 5 PM.
- Around £12.71 Per hour
- Weekly pay
Key Responsibilities:- Opening and closing the school site
- General maintenance and basic repairs
- Health & safety checks across the premises
- Setting up rooms for events and school activities
- Monitoring the security of the site and responding to emergencies
- Liaising with contractors where required
- Ensuring outdoor areas and buildings are kept safe and presentable
The Ideal Candidate Will:- Have previous caretaking, maintenance, or site management experience (school experience desirable)
- Be practical, proactive, and reliable
- Understand health & safety requirements in a school environment
- Be flexible and happy to work split shifts
- Must have an Enhanced DBS check
