Accounts Assistant (Property Management) – Southend
A growing and well-established property management business in Southend is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their busy department. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to service charge accounting and develop within a specialist area of finance.
The Role:
You’ll support the finance and property teams with a mix of transactional and property accounting duties, including:
- Assisting with the preparation and reconciliation of service charge accounts
- Supporting service charge budgets and updating occupier/tenant details
- Bank reconciliations, invoice processing, and cash allocations
- Liaising with property managers to support portfolio requirements
- Sending statements to tenants/clients (monthly or quarterly)
- Assisting with rent, service charge and other property-related demands
- Supporting move‑ins / move‑outs and tenancy updates
- Helping reconcile utility and other direct costs for recharge
- Handling tenant, landlord, and supplier queries
- Supporting arrears chasing and general account maintenance
About You:
- Some experience in an Accounts / Finance role
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage your own workload
- Any exposure to property or service charges is a bonus (not essential)
