An exciting new opportunity to join our UK, Burgess Hill Distribution Site as a Sourcing and Logistics Manager.

A key role within our Distribution Centre Operations and in supporting the local Senior Leadership Team: when our operations perform, our products deliver. BioIVT is a leading global provider of research models and value-added research services for drug discovery and development. We specialize in control and disease-state biospecimens, including human and animal tissues, cell products, blood and other biofluids, aiming to improve patient outcomes by coupling comprehensive clinical data with donor samples.

The role offers hybrid working with min. 2 to 3 days at our Burgess Hill site. Proposed start date: June 2026.

Salary: circa £40,000 per year

Role Summary

The Sourcing & Logistics Manager’s responsibility is to lead both the Sourcing & Logistics teams in the procurement of biospecimens to customer specifications and the distribution to our clients across the world. This individual will report directly to the Senior Manager, EU Distribution Operations and their primary goals are to manage the intercompany external sourcing of biospecimens, alongside managing both the inbound & outbound logistics of the Distribution centres. They will serve as an escalation point to resolve any queries or need for clarification on more complex projects by discussion with the customer directly and by using internal resources and expertise. They will be responsible for working directly with the leadership team to provide insight, monitor metrics, analyse data and offer strategic solutions for improvements within the team. They will provide supervision, training and coaching to Sourcing & Logistics team members ensuring that quality, health & safety and productivity performance goals are met and that the team is motivated and empowered to deliver consistent high quality services.

Line Management responsibilities: include supervision and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; supporting managers/directors in performance appraisals; reviewing weekly timesheets and time-off requests; providing regular feedback, and setting individual goals aligned with team and department goals. Current number of direct reports - Logistics Team (5) and Sourcing Team (3).

Work Environment

This is a full-time Monday through Friday workweek with general business hours. Office based with an option for hybrid working (2-3 days per week onsite). Travel to other sites is required 4 – 6 times per year.
