Chartering Manager

Pacific Basin is one of the world’s leading owners and operators of modern Handysize and Supramax dry bulk ships. As part of our ongoing development, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chartering Manager to join our team.

What we are looking for

• An ambitious Chartering professional with a strong commercial mindset and a proven ability to outperform the market.
• Responsibility for trading our core fleet in the spot market, actively securing cargo coverage, and chartering‑in and operating tonnage as required.
• Ability to develop, manage, and strengthen long‑term relationships with customers and brokers, while actively expanding the client base.
• High attention to detail, with full commercial and financial responsibility for fixtures and voyage execution, including the negotiation of robust and protective contractual terms.
• A well‑organised, proactive individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑performance environment.
• Strong discipline in following internal systems, protocols, data entry requirements, and risk management procedures.

Skills Capabilities Qualifications

• Chartering professional with minimum 3 years’ international chartering/broking experience.
• Knowledge of demand and supply trends for cargoes, particularly in Altanic region.
• A thorough understanding of the operational practices, policies and strategies of international ship chartering;
• Previous experience with maritime business software systems such as IMOS and Shipfix
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers, brokers and other key industry stakeholders.

Attributes / Personality

• Excellent communication skills, English language proficiency is essential. Further language skills are an advantage.
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
